On September 19th, we attended the Rebels showcase at Arleens Grocery in NYC. You may or may not have heard members of Boys Like Girls taking on side projects...this being one of them. John Keefe (drums) decided not to waste his talent on BLG's whatever you call it and enlisted their touring guitarist Jamel Hake to help form the Rebels. The band also consists of Morgan Dorr (lead vocals/guitar) and Luke Dent (keyboard).
Before their set, we overheard the venue workers talking about some technical difficulties. What else would you expect from a low-grade venue/bar? Of course this would happen on a kind of important day for them. Nonetheless the show must go on! The band took the stage 30 minutes late and played four songs for the small group of people that showed up.
